his furniture, housewares, and lighting.  He was born in the Bronx, NY, on February 28, 1918, and attended the Pratt Institute. \u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e \u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eHe began his career, which spanned nearly 60 years, as a designer for Robert Barber, Inc., where he designed \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003ean armchair selected for MOMA's 2nd \"Good Design\" award in 1951-52.  He also worked on ergonomic designs for Angelo Bisenz Associates.\u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan charset=\"utf-8\"\u003emany top industrial designers of the Mid-Century, including Ben Seibel, Arthur Umanoff, Russel Wright, Paul McCobb, etc.  Tony \u003c\/span\u003ePaul lived and worked in the NY area for his entire career, except for a couple of stints in Italy and Spain.  His designs were distributed by several companies including, \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e \u003cspan Westwood, Robert Barber, \u003c\/span\u003eVerplex, Woodlin-Hall, \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e \u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eSpanish Arts, Levco, Brueton, Gilley, \u003c\/span\u003eThe Elton Company, and eventually his own design firm: Tony Paul and Associates (Tony was also part owner of The Elton Company, the name of which was a portmanteau of the company founder's given names,\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\"Elliot\" and \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e\"Tony.\")  Interestingly, we know virtually nothing about Elliot other than his contribution to the product line seems to have been \"ceramics.\"  No surname is ever mentioned in any literature, and the trail goes cold even before the company closes sometime in found his niche in the design of lighting, which he practiced for over 20 years.  His work has been featured in many design periodicals and books, such and\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003eChairs\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eby George Nelson.  His work won many design awards over the years.  Tony Paul passed away in
