She participated in local organizations, meetings and events to promote the cause, and she was a regular fixture at many craft fairs in the city.  T\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ehe Wells Street \u0026amp; 57th Street Art Fairs were her favorite venues as well as others \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eincluding, South Side, Evanston and Oak Park.  For some 30 odd years, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eshe and her husband, Robert - who also made pottery, but worked as a Chicago policeman - spent most weekends during the summer, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003epacking up their Pontiac station wagon with functional pottery to sell at art fairs around the city and suburbs.  She became a well known presence, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ealways wearing a large hat, and became renowned for her owl sculptures.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e  She ultimately gained a reputation across the Midwest as a well-known and respected craftswoman and proponent of the Midwest craft scene.\u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"auto\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"auto\"\u003e\n\u003cspan\u003eWhile her work varies in style, it never drifts far from a strong mid century modern craft pottery aesthetic. She was a great innovator in form, design, and surface glaze treatments, having developed many distinctive textured glazes and clay bodies.  at a later point of her life, she became motivated to create modern sculpture, and became famous amongst collectors of 20th Century Modern Art.
